Sourcing
Growing cilantro requires careful attention. The plant needs plenty of sunlight, but excessive heat can cause it to bolt. Bolting occurs when the soil becomes too warm and the plant grows so quickly that it can no longer be harvested properly or produce oil of suitable quality. Parts of Asia provide an ideal climate for reducing this risk.
Coriander is an annual culinary and medicinal herb with small, feathery green leaves. Its pale pink or white flowers grow in umbrella-like clusters. The plant can reach about 50 cm in height. Coriander is planted every two to three weeks from late spring and is usually harvested about one month after planting. The essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves.
